Jon Schultz brings team of eight to Jucu

Work is quickly progressing on the future homes of the Călean and Bereschi families, with help from 8 US Global Builders led by Jon Schultz, all at their first build in Cluj.

Bravely facing the summer heat, volunteers did lots of trenching for the water & sewer lines leading up to duplex no 11 in Jucu de Sus and prepared the styrofoam needed for thermal insulation of the homes. They also helped prepare rebar for the foundation of duplex 12, set to be poured next year.

The US volunteers worked alongside the Vadean and Czapa families, who are now putting in the work hours needed to be included in the selection process. The team also met and worked alongside Cami Bica, future homeowner in duplex no 9, that is set to move in next year after a public utility network becomes operational in the area.

But it’s not all hard work. The team had a blast visiting Cluj during a guided tour, discovering the history of the community where their work will have an impact lasting generations.
