So good, it needed to happen

After the initial trip leader had to withdraw for health reasons, Nancy Slocum stepped in to lead a brilliant team of volunteers for a trip so good, it needed to happen. The future home for the Călean and Bereschi families, as well as the yard where their children will play, are now taking shape thanks to the hard work of no less than 18 volunteers.

Some quite demanding tasks, requiring effort, were handled brilliantly – from moving rebar for the foundation of future duplex no 12 to digging the ground around duplex 11, where land works were still needed. Others tasks required precision or a “certain way” of doing things – and we made great progress in putting together rebar, doing finishing work on the workshop building, and doing lots of plaster work on its walls.

Since Transylvania is a fun place to be, we went to some of the area’s more interesting attractions. Global Builders had the chance to sail an underground lake, discover hidden treasures in the city center and sample a cuisine that draws flavors from the multitude of cultures that mix and meet in the region.

Thanks to Nancy, Carina, Michelle, Renee, Ann, Lisa, Mary, Susan, Dawnelle, Barb, Kristin, Virginia, Chris, Jack, Mark, Jim, Irene, and Ron!
