Ten volunteer teams from Romania worked in Jucu from May to August, and as summer drew to an end it was time for Global Builders to rejoin our efforts in building affordable housing in Romania’s most expensive real estate market. Scott Lyle, for the first time in Cluj,
The team bonded over a trip to Salina Turda, visiting its long salt galleries and sailing on the underground lake, before starting work on Monday with everybody’s favorite warm-up: trenching. Digging some ditches for utility lines require some effort, but also care to not hit infrastructure already in place. The team helped us repair drainage lines, lay the ground for sidewalks, and also did mansory work, cutting plywood for our workshop’s walls and timber for the frames of future homes.
Photos here can show how fun the work was for our Global Builders, but only partner-families truly feel how important the work was. For giving us a big helping hand in changing the future of families we serve, our thanks go out to Scott, Gretchen, Cid, Roxanne, Douglas, James, Phil, Jay, Crystal, Mike, Julian, Steve, Kaitlyn, Ty, Cassie & Patti! See you all back soon!
